| Costume Sketch for A Midsummer Night's Dream by Cathie McClellan |
Our programs center around our outdoor summer Livermore Shakespeare Festival at Concannon Vineyard. Using professional artists and working from Shakespeare's First Folio texts, we create an outdoor arts experience that is a highlight of many a summer gathering. Picnicking on the winery grounds before the show, and a comfortable and affordable "Stay and Play" hotel and dinner package for out-of-town guests makes an art-oriented evening in the country accessible to locals and tourists alike.
In addition, we produce indoor professional theater at other venues around town including The Bankhead Theatre and The Bothwell Arts Center.
As an active partner in our community, we can also be found participating in special events such as the upcoming Livermore Reads Together at the Livermore Pubic Library. A reading from John Steinbeck's Travels with Charlie will be free and open to the public on February 16th, 2010 at 7:00 - 8:00 PM . Dr. Philip Manwell, Dean of Humanities at Las Positas College will preface the reading with a short talk.
Education classes and Internships are available to high-school and college-age students.
